item: a small fanzine with hand-colored cover available free on the shelf below the magazines at Equator Books, approximate date December 2006, seemingly titled “Tuesday Weld Lunar Coaxing Theresa.” Cover image was actress Tuesday Weld in a majorette uniform and cap, with the many-headed serpent of the SLA drawn over whatever symbol was originally on front of the cap. Contents were pages from a telephone book, very pale, with photocopies drawings of fish, birds and I think also girls’ legs on top of the text. Rather slight, though the cover was striking. One copy, rather battered, also seen on a table at Abbot’s Habit around the same time. Name of publication recalled because I jotted it down on a business card received the same day.

item: series of notes left on cars in vicintity of Ozone/Dudley/Rose seeking a lost “dog,” “dog” a drawing of a weird looking animal with a narrow maw and long limbs with extra joints, name was something biblical or demonic (Baphomet? Balthazar?) and phone number was written old style as an exchange, GRamercy something, I think. Reward offered. These were printed on old fashioned computer paper with the holes in the edges and the serated bit, and some of the notes had feces smeared on them. Saw a few myself and heard of others, last summer and fall. Helped a neighbor clean her windscreen.

item: at the Venice library last summer, anonymous note on bulletin board accusing an unnamed local couple of harrassment and warning readers to beware. Many descriptive details which I don’t recall clearly. I did not at the time associate this with the neighbours that I sometimes saw when we were walking our dogs, but it could have been them, or anyone.

I don’t know if any of the above is germane to this mystery, but these are the strange written things I remember from the last year or so in the community. Maybe other local people will find this blog and add their observations. Does anyone have copies of the above?
